Aeternum Chapter 4As I looked into the rusted mirror, I brushed a stray lock of hair out of my eye. We didn't have long until the dance started and I was the last to get ready. I looked down uneasily at my outfit, it was a black body con style dress with floral pattern long lace sleeves, spanning across the back and chest. It was simple but flattering. I turned round to face the others in the dorm and they smiled and nodded in approval. Brutus and Nathan were sitting next to each other on my bed looking as if they were about to fall asleep, they were both clad in tight black dress trousers and crisp white shirts with skinny black ties. Megan was fluttering around the dorm like a nervous sparrow. Ellie had forced her to make an effort, and she had. She wore a short sleeved black shift dress with a white collar, and black sheer tights with black patent pumps. But of course, the belle of the ball was sure to be our own Ellie. She stood in the center of the dorm with that knowing smile while we all watched
Aeternum Chapter 11The dawn sky peeked through the dense canopy of the forest, the pink and blue patches like something out of swirling painting. Dainty droplets of morning dew clung to the odd spots of greenery, and the air had that sharp crisp feel that could only be felt on a early spring morning. Fata plodded onwards, her strong muscles contracting beneath me. We were heading to the Witch Queen's palace but the journey was long as our group had split up, and the Queen preferred to be more isolated. Although last night Darcy had told me we'd hopefully reach our destination by noon. I could make out Raphael's frame in the distance, scouting ahead for Defenders. Ellie was beside me staring at him her eyes soft and dopey like a deer.
"You're so smitten." I said, smirking while looking at Raphael.
"His body is wonderland and I want to be Alice." She giggled next to me.
I turned and raised my eyebrow at her before saying,
"Okay first of all, that's kinda gross. Don't you think this is weird? Seeing as his
Aeternum Chapter 12The dimming sun cast an orange haze above the horizon, lighting up the sky like a crackling flame. The pink and orange sky began to darken, and faint yet dazzling stars began to appear. The setting sun cast tall shadows along the walls of the Wolf King's castle, as the group of friends triumphantly made their way out.
"Well that went well." Brutus commented, tugging his shirt back on.
"Easy for you to say, he loved you and Nathan." Ellie muttered.
Ellie was right, while overall I was glad that the meeting went so successful I couldn't help but feel put out. I remember his narrow eyes sizing up myself, Emma, and Ellie as If we we're about to munch on him.
"Vampires remain where you are, the rest of you come forward." His voice boomed, his tone full with known authority.
Apart from his prejudice views on Vampirekind, I admired him. He was tall, well built with incredible muscles even though his grey-white beard insinuated he was quite old. His eyes (when they weren't focused on the Vampi
Aeternum Chapter ThreeI hate mornings. It's the one time us Vampires aren't 'cool', Ellie epically. She runs around the dorm screaming after lost hairspray and makeup like a headless chicken. Nathan is even worse, spending hours in front of the mirror perfecting his hair. Megan is almost close to tears every day because she can't find her textbooks, or the boys have doodled huge...uh male genitals on her maths homework. Brutus however is the calmest out of everyone, as well... he's asleep. He doesn't bother turning up to class until noon and the teachers at S.A.O.E have given up with giving him detentions.
We all somehow managed to turn up at assembly on time just as our Head teacher Mr. Draco, started talking.
"Good morning everyone, I'd like to take this moment in welcoming our newest Defender, Alexandru." Mr. Draco flashed a nervous glance towards one of the bulky Defenders.
Perhaps now is a good time to mention how things work in Aeternum. 200 years ago Aeternum was ruled by the Kings and Q
Aeternum Chapter 14 -The final battle- Part 2Black blood dripped from Nikita's mouth as she fell to her knees. I gently pulled my sword from her heart and threw it on the floor. Part of me wanted to cry as her eyes bore into mine, her body quivering and jolting.
"Bitch." She hissed as she collapsed, never to move again.
I stood there for what seemed like hours, shaking and crying. I was only 17 and I'd killed a Queen.
I was scared.
"Oh Katherine..." A familiar voice said soothingly behind me.
I turned around to see the one person I wanted right now,
"Mum!" I cried, wiping the tears from my face as she hugged me close.
Not Victoria but better, my real Mum.
"Sweetie it's okay. You did the right thing." She said calmly, searching my face with her gentle blue eyes.
That's when I realised, It was okay. I looked over to Nikita's body and my eyes fell on something, her ring. That's when it hit me, an extraordinary wave of power. It exploded in my head and raced through my veins. Every part of me screamed to take the ring, looking back I
five.Five is the number of times you worry he’s stopped breathing, as the surgeons carve around his heart, twisting away the plaque ridden arteries, and pulling a vein out of his leg. Five is the number of heart wrenching hours you and your family were waiting in the hospital room, worried that your lives would crumble, that there would be five members of the family instead of six, that five days out of the week he would not come home for dinner, that five kisses from him would no longer be given to his wife and four children. Five was the amount of fingernails you bit off while watching people enter and exit the waiting room, and the amount of minutes your mother spent on the phone, explaining that something was wrong. Five is the critical difference between holding a father’s hand as your mother cries into his heart shaped pillow. The difference between rejoicing and smiling weakly because he’s okay or carrying your father’s American-flag-covered-casket and watchin
